Mesa Education Leaders Support Rich Crandall

Legislative District 19 Senate Candidate picks up major endorsements
from past and present administrators, teachers, principals and board members

MESA – Representative Rich Crandall, current Chair of the House Education Committee and local businessman, proudly announced the support of past and present administrators, teachers, principals, and school board members from across Mesa. Crandall’s unparalleled background and hard work in reforming education was key to securing the support of these leaders.

"I am honored to have the support of so many past and present educators who have helped shape our students and the future of Mesa. These are the folks who really know education,” said Rich Crandall, “I look forward to the opportunity to continue to work with each of them as we reform our state’s educational system and build a competitive workforce to support Arizona’s long-term economy."

Dr. Mike Cowan said, "Rich has a strong track record of being a champion for education, whether in a district, charter, private or home school. We need that kind of experienced leadership at the Capitol if progress is going to be achieved."

"As Education Chair, Rich has shown he understands what Arizona needs by passing reforms such as Third Grade Reading Proficiency and the Grand Canyon Diploma for those students who push themselves," said Principal Michael Oliver.

"Rich personally raised over $750,000 so 31,000 kids could take the ACT exam, including all Mesa Juniors. You just don’t see the average lawmaker doing something like this to benefit Mesa kids. This is an example of Rich’s deep commitment to education in Arizona and is exactly why we need him to continue his work in the Senate," said Principal Gerry Slemmer.

Rich Crandall has been a leader in education reform in Arizona. In the Arizona State Senate, he pledges to continue working on solid reforms that yield results. We invite you to ask the education leaders below why they support Rich Crandall for Senate.

  1. Rich, doesn't represent the best interest of our children. He represents the administration and their wishes. He is a rubber stamper or their wishes.

  4. I have deep concerns about electing anyone who actually believes that his constituents don't care if he shows up to vote or not. Voting is a major part of the job of Senators and Congressmen, to not do so is to ignore one's responsibility. In the Marine Corps we called it Dereliction of Duty and it was punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). Rich, thank you for your service but I think it is time you stepped aside.

  5. @David Rush, I agree, voting is the end all of being a representative. But there are two things I would encourage you to keep in mind. First, a single vote only counts on the margin, so sometimes it doesn't matter if a single representative votes.
Second, the Molina campaign has gone negative very early in the race, but I encourage you to hold your judgement until the Crandall campaign responds with all the relevant facts. I guarantee many of your concerns will be taken care of.

  6. @Drew, although your fundraiser arguments are absurd (only an idiot would turn down those amounts of contributions and Crandall's non-participation would have done little to stop the fundraiser from happening) I would agree that Rich Crandall is more liberal than his opponent. Yet the negative impact of that marginal difference has yet to be substantiated.

I would love 100 more links, just make them more than fluff and repeats thereof. (i.e. after you make a point, ask yourself "So what? Why does that matter?" Keep asking until you get to something that really matters.)

What substantial expertise does Crandall’s opponent possess that makes him a attractive candidate? Seriously, I would like to know. From his website/press releases it seems he lacks significant experience for logical comparison at almost every level. I have been unable to find any place that gives substantive Pros for his candidacy(the overwhelming focus of Crandall's opponent is on Crandall’s Cons). So educate me. Tell me what Crandall’s opponent has to offer without the use of relative inadequacies.
